Our Story

As the Northeast’s only tribute to The Smashing Pumpkins, DROWN is dedicated to capturing the sweeping soundscapes, emotional depth, and alt-rock edge of one of the most iconic bands of the ’90s. From the raw power of Gish and the dreamy melancholy of Siamese Dream, to the epic ambition of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, the band delivers a powerful and immersive live experience that channels the heart and soul of the Pumpkins’ legacy.

More than a tribute, DROWN invites audiences to step back into the golden age of alternative rock — a time when introspection met intensity, distortion met beauty, and Billy Corgan’s voice became the anthem of a generation.

Meet The Band

Mike Reino

Vocals / Guitar

Mike came from a musical family and took up guitar in high school. In 2021 he formed a female fronted Alternative Rock band "Fluffy Side Down" and is still active today. The path to Drown began when he started getting raving reviews for his cover of Today in Narcdog, and seeing Niko's ad in Facebook looking for Smashing Pumpkins vocalist. He took it as a sign, and here we are!

Fun Fact about Mike:

Mike ran for Congress and is a sharp horse racing handicap.

Kimberly Ann

Bass

Kim is one of the most talented bassists on the scene today. Kim was introduced to music through piano at the age of 8, when she began to develop her musical ear, and finger dexterity. Her passion for music continued to grow and eventually led her to purchasing her first Spector bass guitar. In 2021 Kim was part of the formation of an all female lineup "Spinderella".

Fun Fact about Kim:

Kim is shy and introverted except when she's on stage.

Niko McEnerney

Drums

Niko is the founder of Drown. Drawn to music at an early age when he first heard "Battery" by Metallica. Niko has been playing drums for over 30 years. He started playin in New York music scene at age 15, performing in numerous bands. Niko's memorable meetings with his mentors, included: Jimmy Chamberlin, Lars Ulrich, Alex Van Halen, Don Henley, Stewart Copeland and many more.

Fun Fact about Niko:

Niko was Ian Paice's (Deep Purple) Drum Tech for a day.

Boris G.

Guitar

Boris began playing guitar at an early age of 10. He was heavily influence by Tony Iommi and Randy Rhoads. He later began to appreciate and emulate other guitar styles from players like Django Reinhardt, Jeff Beck, Gary Moore, and B.B. King. "Learning the Smashing Pumpkins material has been incredibly enjoyable", and I have tremendous respect for James' playing abilities.

Boris is a 5th degree Black Belt in Matsubayashi Shorin-Ryu.
